Positioned in the center of a small private campus, the Martin Luther College Chapel meets challenging demands of circulation and capacity in a 10,000 SF assembly space. The design utilizes sustainable materials such as glulam timber constructIon and local Kasota limestone to create a feeling of warmth and still meet the esthetic dialect of the surrounding campus buildings. The 1200 seat chapel is part of a larger campus plan linking it to existing classroom buildings. This independent studio was designed to operate as a professional design team experience. Partners in the project collaborated with the chapel building committee from the college.
